The Antonov An-225 Mriya (Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-225 Мрія, lit. ''dream' or 'inspiration''; NATO reporting name: Cossack) was a strategic airlift cargo aircraft designed in the 1980s by the Antonov Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. The aircraft was destroyed during the Battle of Antonov Airport, also known as Battle of Hostomel Airport, was a military engagement that happened in the Antonov Airport in Hostomel, Kyiv Oblast during the Kyiv offensive of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
