Description
"Ukrainian Dream" is our next postage stamp. It is dedicated to the world's largest aircraft An-225 "Mriya" (Dream), which was destroyed by the russian occupiers.
This illustration was drawn before the war by eleven-year-old Sofia Kravchuk from Volyn region to participate in the contest "What is Ukraine for me?", which took place last year as a part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. This is exactly how the child saw our country - bright and prosperous.
That's how it will be! Even though that the invaders managed to destroy the most powerful plane in the world, illustrated by Sofiyka. After all, the "dream" cannot be taken away from us. And this will be constantly reminded by the history of events, and now - our postage stamp.
In the competition 6,134 participants from eleven countries (Australia, Israel, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Norway, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine) sent to the organizers 10,276 drawings and photographs.
The plane was destroyed in a russian attack on Hostomel airport on February 27, 2022.
